CLSI Announces Workshop on How to Tackle EP23: Laboratory Quality Control Based on Risk Management

Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA-March 2012-Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) is presenting the workshop, “Tools for Tackling EP23: Laboratory Quality Control Based on Risk Management; Approved Guideline”. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 10:00 AM-3:30 PM Eastern (US) Time at The Radnor Hotel, in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, USA.

Participants will learn more about the new CLSI document, Laboratory Quality Control Based on Risk Management; Approved Guideline (EP23-A), and the companion products to the guideline. The workshop will cover how to improve patient care through the implementation of risk management, and discuss the proper use of new quality control (QC) tools based on this guideline. Also included will be information on assessing risk, how to create individual QC plans, a review of new individual QC plans, as well as examples from EP23.

In a special breakout session, the attendees will create an individual QC plan that addresses risk management by assessing the measuring system, laboratory setting, and clinical application of a test. The workshop will teach participants about the latest testing methods and give them opportunities to ask questions.

This workshop is intended for clinical and laboratory professionals at all levels, related health care professionals, manufacturers and representatives from regulatory and accrediting organizations, and educators and students in clinical laboratory sciences.
