Publisher To Integrate Product Information Tools into Techniques Publishing Program
COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y., October 03 , 2003 – The science publisher Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press announced today that it has re-acquired ownership of the database BioSupplyNet.com and the print directory The Source Book from SciQuest Inc. These publications were founded by CSHL Press in 1995 and acquired by SciQuest two years later. The Press will expand support and development of the publications, which currently provide information on products from 4500 biomedical suppliers. As part of the agreement, CSHL Press will seamlessly migrate all assets within 2 months of the transfer agreement.
”The Source Book and BioSupplyNet are valuable sources of information for research scientists” said Dr John Inglis, Executive Director of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press. “They were conceived as companions to our celebrated techniques manuals and while they are currently extensively used, their reintegration into our publishing program will provide exciting new opportunities for both the scientific community and the companies that supply it with products”.
SciQuest divested BioSupplyNet and The Source Book to focus on its corporate strategy of providing enterprises with tools for procurement and materials management. “With SciQuest’s focus now on providing customers with a completely integrated procurement solution, we feel that CSHL Press is in a position to provide the attention needed to develop these publications,” said Stephen Wiehe, President and CEO of SciQuest.
