Columbus Children’s Research Institute Selects Rescentris for Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) Software

COLUMBUS, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rescentris, the leading provider of electronic lab notebook (ELN) software for the life sciences industry, today announced that Columbus Childrens Research Institute (CCRI) has selected its award-winning Collaborative Electronic Research FrameworkTM (CERF) solution for their electronic lab notebook.

CCRI executive management, researchers, lab staff and IT support sought to identify an ELN industry leader that could provide its principal investigators and laboratory scientists with versatility, ease of use, and flexibility. Collaboration and the ability to share knowledge are critical objectives of research projects according to Mary France, Director of Research Information Services.

Not only were we looking at an integrated technology solution that is new to research institutions worldwide, we were seeking a company that could partner with us and provide a solution uniquely suited to our environment, said France. We have over 111 principal investigators and more than 700 employees, most of whom need access and the ability to collaborate on projects. After a thorough review of the industry and a pilot project, we finally chose Rescentris and CERF.

With an enterprise deployment of CERF ELN, CCRI continues their innovative history, said Dr. Adel Mikhail, CEO of Rescentris. We believe they are the first institution of their kind to embrace using an ELN. This underscores their commitment to making the research process faster and more efficient.

Mary France will present at the 2007 Bio-IT World Expo at the World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on CCRIs experience with the selection of Rescentris and CERF. Her presentation, Collaboration as the Driving Force for Selecting an ELN,” begins at 9:30 am on May 2nd, at the Exhibit Hall Theatre.
