Comlabs Systems Releases MineTrak 3

The latest release of the MineTrak Software known as MineTrak 3 takes full advantage of Microsoft’s new .NET Framework. MineTrak 3 is much more than a Stockpile Management System – it’s a robust Supply Chain Management System designed for the mining industry.

MineTrak was first developed by Comlabs Systems in the late 1990’s and has been deployed in coal, iron ore, base metal and mineral sand operations in Australia and overseas. The major Australian companies using MineTrak include BHP Billiton, RioTinto Coal, Tiwest Joint Venture and Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal. Cerrejon Coal, Antamina and Samarco are some South American companies obtaining benefits from using MineTrak.

MineTrak 3 functionality encompasses production reporting and planning, budgeting, forecasting, demand planning, quality management, blending, scheduling, stockpile management including 3D modelling, metal balancing and reconciliation and also provides management dashboard and reporting tools.

MineTrak 3 encompasses an Integration Hub and Task Manager, which performs the role of a message broker, capturing XML messages published from external systems and passing them to the MineTrak Adaptor. This ensures seamless integration with other systems commonly found in mining operations – SCADA/Plant systems, mine planning, truck dispatch, train and shipping systems.

In the next few months MineTrak 3 will be implemented in a number of major mining operations and an upgrade path is available for existing MineTrak users.

To coincide with the release of MineTrak 3, Comlabs will be holding the inaugural International MineTrak User Group Meeting in Mackay Queensland during November 2004.
