Creative Commons / Science Commons – Key to sharing Scientific Knowledge
by Ephraim Gadsy
Have you started noticing a little symbol called “Creative Commons” showing up on numerous on-line publications, including this blog?
Except where otherwise noted, this site is
licensed under a Creative Commons License
This little icon is being adopted more and more by publishers on the Internet, especially in the scientific community. Creative Commons is helping to guarantee the free and open access to vital scientific information and publications.
Creativity always builds on the past. If everyone decides to “protect” their work from being used by other people, we will end up going backwards rather than forwards. Creative Commons licenses allow you to grant people proper legal permission to use your works in their works. Everyone benefits.
