Dade Behring Previews Its Syva Viva-E Drug Testing System at 2004 Meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry

Dade Behring (NASDAQ:DADE) previewed its benchtop Viva-E(TM) Drug Testing System for its Syva(R) product line at the recent meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) in Los Angeles. The Viva-E is designed to run Dade Behring’s Syva Emit(R)-branded therapeutic drug monitoring, drugs of abuse and serum toxicology assays, as well as its tests for determining the validity of drug test samples. The product is anticipated to be available in the fourth quarter of 2004.

The instrument was developed and is manufactured by Vital Scientific NV, a Netherlands corporation which is a subsidiary of Clinical Data, Inc. The instrument is specifically designed for the low- to medium- volume dedicated toxicology laboratory.
