Data Translation, Inc. Announces LabVIEW 7.1 Support for Its Award-Winning DSP Data Acquisition Hardware
Data Translation announces DT-LV Link/RT-Streaming (DT-LS) software that provides LabVIEW 7.1 support for its award-winning DT9840 series of DSP data acquisition hardware. DT-LV Link/RT-Streaming (DT-LS) allows LabVIEW 7.1 users to access the power of our high-performance DSP hardware through a set of Virtual Instruments (VIs).
“This new software eliminates the need for the costly add-on programs like TI Code Composer Studio by using a standard LabVIEW 7.1 interface,” states Fred Molinari, President and CEO. “Users can configure the analog I/O, digital I/O, and counter/timer operations of the DT9840 series DSP modules automatically using VIs on the host PC.”
DT-LV Link/RT-Streaming (DT-LS) allows the use of VIs to stream data to and from any DT9840 series DSP module in real-time and to output arbitrary waveforms. To simplify DSP programming, DT-LV Link/RT-Streaming (DT-LS) automatically translates the settings of your LabVIEW 7.1 application to the file format required by the DSP on the module and downloads this file to the module in the background. Many example programs are provided to get the user up and running quickly.
Data Translation’s DT9840 series DSP data acquisition hardware provides a complete data acquisition solution for real-time signal capture and processing external from the PC. The series is designed around the TMS320C671x DSP processor from Texas Instruments and communicates to the host PC via the high speed USB 2.0 interface. Eight separate 24-bit A/D converters provide outstanding Signal to Noise ratio of 110dB and the board provides simultaneous operation of 8 analog input channels, 2 or 8 analog output channels, 24 digital I/O lines, 3 32-bit counter/timers and sampling rates up to 100 kHz/channel are standard features.
