Eklin Medical Systems, the leader in digital radiography and image management systems for the veterinary care market, and Elinc Corporation, a leading provider of veterinary practice management software, today announced the formation of a multi-year joint venture relationship to develop a set of standards for the seamless integration of Elinc’s VIA™ Veterinary Practice Information Management System (PIMS) with Eklin’s RapidStore™ clinical PACS platform and EklinVault™ and EklinRead™ web-based informatics and telemedicine systems.

Elinc’s Veterinary Practice Information Management System allows veterinarians to stay in control of their practice’s complete information needs. Just as digital cameras have made photography more efficient and affordable by eliminating film, Eklin DR systems provide the veterinarian with an X-ray image that can be viewed immediately on a high-resolution monitor without need for film developing. The Eklin DR system provides the user with sophisticated image processing tools, giving the veterinarian much greater depth of information that can be enlarged for far better detail. Images can be stored and archived for future use using PACS (picture archiving, communications and storage) based on DICOM standards. Initially introduced for equine radiography using a high-resolution 9” x 11” detector, the Eklin RapidStudy DR system now offers the only full-size 14” x 17” active area detector available in veterinary medicine for imaging all animals.
