ELN Conference to Present New Applications in Chemistry, Biology for Pharma and Biotech Plus Other Industries February 27-28, Boston, MA
Electronic Laboratory Notebook Technology continues to evolve and should continue to do so for several years as more and more companies and industries implement the time-saving and information-sharing technology, especially in the fields of pharmaceutical pre-clinical chemistry and biology, but also in other industries for which strong demand exists, reports Strategic Research Institute.
Strategic Research Institute’s Electronic Laboratory Notebooks series will continue in 2006 in Boston on February 27-28. New topics include:
- Why smaller companies are considering using ELNs and how they can learn from those who already experienced it (i.e. Big Pharma/biotech)
- Advances in chemistry and biology applications
- What functionalities differentiates an ELN from a reaction database, what functionalities separate a reaction database from an ELN?
- Case studies and stories successes shared by users and vendors – product comparison and evaluation
- ELNs in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP)
- What are Big Pharma’s initiatives in 2006 after implementing the ELN?
- Integration and expansion of generic ELNs
- Practical examples of how ELNs are implemented in disparate groups
- The growing importance of ELN electronic signatures (i.e. legal aspects)
- Applications in other industries (i.e. consumer, agro)
Speakers include industry thought leaders; in 2005 the presenting companies included: Amphora Research Systems, Array Biopharma, Atrium Research & Consulting, Biovitrum AB, Boston University, Bristol-Myers Squibb, CENSA, Eisai Research Institute, GERA, Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe LLP, Kalexsyn, Memory Pharmaceuticals, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Oxford Biomedica, Pfizer Global R&D, Rohm and Haas, Symyx Intellichem, Synthematix, Inc., and Waters.
Additional workshop topics and case studies for the 2006 meeting include:
- The importance of culture in the determination of the success of both large and small scale implementations
- Strategies to gain, build and maximize internal momentum in fostering widespread ELN acceptance
- Tips to ease integration
- Proven strategies to gain management acceptance
- Creating a detailed plan to implement ELN in your own organization
- Identify potential stumbling blocks
- Case studies of both successes and failures
- The importance of safeguarding laboratory productivity levels during the transition
