Enhanced Autosampling Productivity Solutions for GC and GC/MS
Thermo Electron Corporation has updated its XYZ robotic TriPlus™ Autosampler for increased sample throughput of GC and GC/MS applications in the food, fragrance and petroleum industries, refineries, environmental laboratories and government agencies. All these laboratories can now access unprecedented levels of productivity along with flexibility and ease of use in automation. Laboratory efficiency can be further extended with the additional new capability allowing the TriPlus Autosampler to automate simultaneously two adjacent GCs or GC/MS systems. Furthermore, the TriPlus Autosampler is now compatible with a range of different manufacturers’ instrumentation, making all these productivity solutions available to wider markets.
The TriPlus Autosampler is available in three different configurations. The TriPlus AS for liquid injection has a single or double vials tray that holds up to 300 vials. Combined with any Thermo GC injector, this version of the instrument facilitates all injection techniques. With full control of sample handling and injection parameters, and extensive clean-up procedures using multiple solvents, the injection phase is fully automated and very reliable.
The TriPlus HS for headspace injection has a single or double vials tray that holds up to 108 vials. This configuration is the ideal solution for automatic introduction of gases via a proprietary, gastight, heated syringe. An incubation oven with built-in shaker speeds up phase equilibration time, thus minimizing analytical cycles in a highly reproducible manner.
The TriPlus Duo is a combination of the TriPlus AS and TriPlus HS. The easily interchangeable turrets, one for liquids and one for headspace sampling, provide a versatile solution accommodating the different syringe characteristics and speeds needed by the two techniques.
In addition to advanced robotic control of vial and syringe operations over a 3-D space, the TriPlus Autosampler is a user-friendly, versatile, adaptable and high-performance instrument. Operating via data systems or local PDAs, the TriPlus control functionality enables automatic alignment procedures and self-recognition of all available accessories including solvent stations, barcode readers, incubation oven and vial tray holders that allow quick installation and easy start-up.
