European Electronics Industry Names NI LabVIEW Product of the Year; National Instruments Receives Prestigious Award at Reed Electronics Group, Electronics Weekly Event

National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) today announced NI LabVIEW 7.1 graphical development environment received the Product of the Year award at the 2004 European Electronics Industry Awards held in Germany last month. The Product of the Year award recognizes a new electronics product that stands out in the areas of design, innovation and usability and is successful in addressing a specific application.

The European Electronics Industry Awards, organized by Reed Electronics Group and Electronics Weekly magazine, is a celebration of the companies and people achieving the highest standards and driving the electronics industry forward. Held on Nov. 15 in Munich, Germany, the event recognized excellence in the electronics industry across the UK and Europe. An independent judging panel, comprised of representatives from companies, trade bodies, academia and Electronics Weekly editorial staff, selected the award recipients.

“As this award was judged by a panel of independent technology and industry experts from across Europe, this is a true recognition by industry peers of the importance of National Instruments LabVIEW 7.1,” said Richard Wilson, editor of Electronics Weekly. “It was also noted that this version of LabVIEW extended the software’s usefulness, particularly in the area of real-time embedded control systems.”

NI LabVIEW is the graphical development environment for creating flexible and scalable test, measurement and control applications rapidly and at minimal cost. Engineers and scientists use LabVIEW to interface with real-world signals, analyze data for meaningful information and share results and applications. With LabVIEW 7.1, NI continues to advance automated instrumentation for hardware platforms ranging from high-performance modular instruments to real-time data acquisition systems and handheld devices. The software includes five new Express VIs for NI digitizers, signal generators and high-speed digital I/O that help engineers configure sophisticated measurements and acquire data with just a few mouse clicks.
