Washington DC, February 9, 2009     In recent years, America’s health care systems has been characterized as fragmented and expensive, and even unsafe.  Part of the solution to these problems is the greater integration of health care data which offers the prospect of waste reduction; improvements in quality, patient safety and communications; and automated performance measurement.  Expansion of health care IT efforts was a major feature of President Obama’s election campaign and now of his economic stimulus package.

The American Association for Clinical Chemistry offers this timely webinar Managing Diagnostic Data for Improved Patient Care: A Case Study on March 3.  The webinar starts at 2:00 pm (Eastern) and will last approximately 50 minutes.  It features two speakers from MedCentral Health System of Mansfield, OH: Brad Peffley, MBA, Vice President of Information Technology and Fred Crowgey, MBA, Projects Director for Information Technology.  The presenters will discuss the experiences of one health system that went paperless and now makes lab reports, imaging results, and other diagnostic information available to clinicians with the click of a mouse!
