The Government Analyst Division (GAD), Reduit, Republic of Mauritius “is planning to install a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This software will be a key tool to manage the activities of the GAD. The LIMS will primarily be used by the laboratory to control and trace all steps of GAD’s workflows including management of samples for the duration of testing and reporting phase, activities at sampling sites, sample reception, barcoding, sample handling and storage, ensuring the security of samples and chain of custody. Furthermore, the software will facilitate the management of laboratory instruments and their calibration, managing chemical and consumable inventory, reduce duplication of work, streamlining processes and integrating the Quality Management System to support ISO 17025 compliance.”
