First AccelrysWorld Conference Opens In San Diego

AccelrysWorld 2003, a new international conference focusing on the application of software and information technology in scientific research, opens today in San Diego. The speaking program includes two Nobel Prize winners and many other leading industry figures, analysts, and practitioners. Delegates can visit the accompanying exhibition to review the latest technologies from Accelrys and partners including IBM, HP, Oracle, Sun, SGI, Intel, and United Devices. Accelrys, the leader in computational science, expects the event to become a major venue for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemicals, and other research-based industries.

Headline speakers include:

Dr. Leroy Hood, President of the Institute for Systems Biology, recognized as one of the world’s leading scientists in molecular biotechnology and genomics, Professor Sir Harry Kroto of the University of Sussex, UK, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and Dr. Robert Huber of the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, winner of the 1988 Nobel Prize in the same field.
