Gedeon Richter Chooses ACD/ChemSketch as Their Chemical Drawing Package
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) is pleased to announce that Chemical Works of Gedeon Richter Ltd., the largest pharmaceutical company in Hungary and a key player in the Eastern European pharmaceutical market, has licensed ACD/Labs’ comprehensive chemical drawing software, ACD/ChemSketch, for their headquarters in Budapest, Hungary, and manufacturing unit in Dorog, Hungary.
Gedeon Richter performed a thorough feature-to-feature comparison of several chemical drawing packages, and based on the results, selected ACD/ChemSketch 8.0 to replace their existing enterprise-wide chemical drawing software license.
Mr. Vince Szucs, IT Director for Gedeon Richter, states, “We are satisfied with ACD/ChemSketch as it perfectly fits our enterprise environment, it is manageable, and provides an excellent chemical drawing suite for our users.” Gedeon Richter has been using ACD/Labs software, including their 1H and 13C NMR Predictors, for close to ten years.
Through the agreement coordinated by CheMicro Research & Development Co., Ltd., the official ACD/Labs Distributor for Hungary, Gedeon Richter is also being provided with a one-year subscription to ACD/Name and ACD/LogD Suite, which will enable researchers to generate accurate systematic names and select physicochemical properties for the structures drawn in ACD/ChemSketch.
Dr. Antal Lopata, Managing Director for CheMicro, comments, “We are pleased that we could help Gedeon Richter choose the appropriate chemical drawing software, and that we could complete the drawing package with the IUPAC naming and logD prediction tools.”
ACD/Name generates accurate systematic names according to IUPAC recommendations and CAS Index rules for almost any organic structure and selected classes of biochemical, organometallic, and inorganic structures. ACD/LogD Suite provides a full array of tools for the prediction of physicochemical properties of compounds, among those, logD as a pH-dependent measure of hydrophobicity; pKa; and logP. Information about these products can be found at www.acdlabs.com/name and www.acdlabs.com/logdsuite, respectively.
Further information regarding the advanced capabilities of the commercial ACD/ChemSketch software is available at www.acdlabs.com/chemsketch. A freeware version of ACD/ChemSketch is available for personal, home, and educational use.
