Head of Oncology IMED Strategy
The Head of Oncology IMED Strategy is a key member of the MedImmune Oncology IMED leadership team which is responsible for the research and early-stage development activities of the oncology biologics pipeline within AstraZeneca. The Head of Oncology IMED Strategy will provide strategic leadership, counsel, and support to the SVP of the Oncology IMED and other leaders within the oncology therapeutic area at MedImmune.

Responsibilities:
•Partner with the SVP of the Oncology IMED and other functional leaders to develop the overarching strategy for the Oncology IMED (i.e., near- and long-term direction of biologics research and early development).
•Assist SVP of the Oncology IMED by being the primary point of contact for high-impact, high-visibility requests of the AstraZeneca SET and other senior governance bodies.
•Develop insights and guidance from scientific literature, market research, and competitive intelligence to regularly adapt the Oncology IMED strategy, guide investment decisions, and inform the Oncology IMED leadership.
•Identify critical strategic initiatives for the Oncology IMED and lead cross-functional teams to deliver against the identified objectives.
•Work closely across the matrixed organization to drive executional alignment to the Oncology IMED strategy (e.g., with Project Management on portfolio prioritization and resources, with Business Development on identification of portfolio gaps, with Business Insights on market research and competitive intelligence).
•Liaise and assist senior leaders across the enterprise to ensure alignment of the Oncology IMED strategy and operations with the broader organization's (e.g., late-stage development, commercial, small molecule research) strategy and vision.
Qualifications:
•Scientific degree (BS or MS) with at least 10 years of industry experience in Oncology
•Strategic and operations business planning experience in Oncology
•Oncology experience in the industry across solid tumors and hematology
•10-15 years of operational and strategic experience to include discovery, global clinical and commercial, as well as lifecycle management experience with a deep understanding of the entire spectrum of drug development
•Strong business acumen and leadership skills
•Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
•Experience leading a cross-functional team across various functions, including market-based colleagues
•Ability to work collaboratively and successfully across functions (R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Public Relations, Legal, Human Resources, etc.)
•Ability to influence and negotiate without formal direct authority, collaborative, and consultative
•Highly motivated with track record of strategic contributions, impact, and performance
•Excellent oral, interpersonal, and communication skills, including poise and maturity to gain credibility with senior leaders
