Hematology Technical Specialist
Providence is calling a Technical Specialist in Hematology to the Laboratory Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

This is a great opportunity to be employed by one of the largest Laboratories in Alaska, performing over 1.1 million tests/year. We have the latest technology including core lab automation and provide state of the art patient care in chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, blood bank and anatomic pathology.
This position ensures the technical competency of the clinical, technical and scientific aspects of assigned Hematology section. Provides accurate, timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides technical expertise to Providence Laboratory and other institutions. Includes technical oversight of Hematology
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent science speciality.
- Three years of clinical laboratory experience in a computerized hospital in area of expertise (Hematology)
- MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or eligible
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Additional education, coursework and training in Hematology
- ASCP Specialty in Hematology
- Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience in a computerized hospital setting in Hematology
- Familiarization of regulatory requirements
- Experience with writing and establishing SOP
