Histotechnician

Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories, a whole subsidary to Cottage Helath is in searc of a Histotechnician. The Histotechnican is responsible for the preparation of tissue specimens to be examined by the pathologist. This preparation includes: routine processing, tissue embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining, operating and maintaining instruments in the department, reagent preparation and clerical duties. In addition, the Histotechnician II is responsible for the maintenance and development of the Immunohistochemistry procedures and standards within the histology laboratory.
Associate's degree is required with preference to a Bachelor of Science degree.
Certification by ASCP as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist required, HT (ASCP). Preferred Certification by ASCP as a Histotechnologist, HTL (ASCP) with qualification in
Immunohistochemistry (ASCP)
5 years related experience in immunohistochemistry; development, validation and troubleshooting of staining protocols and procedures
