IMS Announces the Release of Powerful and Cost Effective Healthcare Decision Support Software to Wisconsin Hospitals and Healthcare Institutions
In response to the growing need for flexible analysis of the Wisconsin hospital public discharge dataset, Information Management Systems, Inc. (IMS) is pleased to announce the release of the WIN-Stat Analyst(TM) decision support software to Wisconsin hospitals and healthcare institutions. The Analyst(TM) allows users to drill down to the UB-92 level for any reported inpatient or ambulatory discharge in the state of Wisconsin, and aggregate the data to any level contained within the dataset. Queries can be run on multiple criteria simultaneously, and can be conveniently analyzed through the software’s built in Microsoft(TM) Excel Pivot Table output. Additional features of the Analyst(TM) include a complete Physician Analysis Module, detailed Severity and Coding Analysis Modules, and a complete AHRQ Quality Module (including the recently developed Patient Safety Indicators) to name a few. Hospitals can now benchmark their performance (severity and risk adjusted) against any other hospital or group of hospitals in the state.
In a related event, IMS has also released their WIN-Caster(C) demographic projection software to the Wisconsin market. WIN-Caster(C) allows users to look up to 10 years in the future to conduct detailed demographic demand forecasting based on patient age and gender, hospital use rates, DRG, ICD-9 codes, etc. The projections are based upon historical trends, and use an age-sex specific formula to forecast future demand. The user has the flexibility to define the number of years for population and demand projection analysis.
