The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute is a pediatric research department formed within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. The institute was founded in 1972 with the 70,000 square feet addition to the hospital. It primarily supports education efforts of students with fellowships and training grants in cooperation with the hospital, including through the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics (DBHi).
Fellowships appear from time to time and typically appear on the CHOP Research Trainee Web Portal. Additional fellowship opportunities appear on the DBHi education page. Both bioinformatics and clinical informatics fellowships have appeared in these locations.
The DBHi also offers:
- "a non-accredited certificate in informatics based on attendance at any of DBHi's live events or viewing of any module in DBHi's online learning library"; 30 credits required
- "a health informatics residency elective to CHOP residents for those interested in clinical applications of technology, data, and the electronic health record and with a desire to learn more in a fun, interactive style"
