The Government of Jamaica has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the supply and installation of Laboratory Information System Software for the medical laboratories in Jamaica. The Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the entire system.

 

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders  as defined in the guidelines.

 

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents from the Ministry of Health, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Project at the address below during office hours, 8:30am to 5:00pm. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of  US$65 or J$4000. The method of payment will be manager’s cheque. The document will be sent by email or courier.

 

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 3% of the bid price in a freely convertible currency, and be delivered to the address below by 3:00pm on May 3, 2006. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Local bidders must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of submission and submit copies of their valid NCC registration and Tax Compliance Certificate with their bids. Late bids will be rejected. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 pm, April 4, 2006 at the National Public Health Laboratory, 21 Slipe Pen Road, Kingston. All bidders are encouraged to attend.
