| The California Department of Toxic Substances Control, Office of Pollution Prevention and Technology Development is conducting a project to evaluate the use of High Efficiency Oil Filters by demonstrating the technology in State vehicles. The performance of the filters will be measured through periodic analysis of engine oil samples, which will be conducted by a contract laboratory. The laboratory will measure typical engine wear parameters, determine the contamination in the oil, quantify the degradation of the oil, and indicate the continued usability of the oil. |
