JusticeTrax LIMS Administrator

SNA International (SNA) is searching for a JusticeTrax Forensic Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator to support LIMS analysis, upgrade of JusticeTrax, and administration. The JusticeTrax LIMS Administrator will lead a project that partners with SNA staff, client laboratory personnel, client IT personnel, and other supporting groups to maintain and improve the organization’s JusticeTrax-based LIMS. This opportunity is a full-time position with SNA and requires that the successful candidate be located in the Washington DC area.

The JusticeTrax LIMS Administrator will work collaboratively with our client, client stakeholders, and the SNA information technology team to:

● Lead and manage the implementation, maintenance and continual enhancement of the JusticeTrax LIMS system across the client organization to ensure continual LIMS operation in order to provide increases in laboratory operational efficiency.

● Lead and manage the integration of the LIMS with other information management systems used by the laboratory and laboratory stakeholders.

● Analyze the LIMS database and laboratory workflows and provide strategy/methods for improving LIMS performance to optimize production in a variety of forensic disciplines (e.g. DNA, chemistry, etc.).

● Develop management reports and production dashboards providing operational performance metrics such as turnaround time, wait time, production time, backlog status, and other operational metrics, as needed.

● Work with other operational directors in the planning, implementation, and execution of new analytical methods and/or technologies in the LIMS environment.

● Assist with maintaining compliance with quality standards through the review and update of validations, methods, and SOPs, as applicable to LIMS.

● Assist with internal and external audits and/or assessments and, if applicable, approve corrective actions, and document such review in the LIMS environment.

● Lead efforts on end-user training and support across multiple disciplines and with relevant stakeholders.

● Develop and approve the technical specifications for outsourcing agreements and/or contractual services pertaining to LIMS.

● Implement, maintain, and improve quality assurance procedures to improve LIMS security, as applicable.

● Ensure the consistent, efficient, and effective application of LIMS throughout department subunits is maintained.

● Develop, modify, and test new and existing reports and databases for effective and efficient data capturing, management, and integration in the LIMS environment.

● Act as a liaison to relevant professional groups in the LIMS community, including technical user groups to ensure the state of the art and knowledge within the client environment is maintained.

● Keep management abreast of issues affecting LIMS operations and the quality of the LIMS environment.

● Prepare operations reports, including production metrics, turn around time, quality measures, and other relevant performance-based metrics to the Laboratory Director and other key client management, as applicable.

● Prepare annual budgets for LIMS enhancements, as applicable.

● Lead the writing of robust documentation related to the use of LIMS.

● Supervise support staff.
