Lab Assistant, Process Development
This position will perform a variety of laboratory procedures to support all Process Development activities. These procedures include, but are not limited to, consumable stocking, solution preparation, glassware preparation, lab organization, and waste management.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
•Wash glassware, plastic ware, carboys including autoclaving
•Lab organization and maintenance
•Consumable ordering and stocking in general lab areas and satellite areas
•Work with Materials Management team for successful utilization of stock room
•Maintenance of water baths and incubators
•Daily temperature checks
•Clean biosafety cabinets and chemical fume hoods
•General lab solution preparation including cell culture and fermentation media
• Maintain organization and 5S standards in the development and pilot labs
• Execute and document 5S audits of laboratory space and update areas as needed or requested
• Waste management including trash, recyclables and biohazard, including autoclaving
• Filing paperwork and work orders
III. Position Requirements:
Education: High school or Associates Degree/Certificate/Diploma with laboratory experience
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory

•Manual dexterity
•Ability to perform a variety of laboratory tasks
•Ability to manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame
•Ability to attend training and apply learning on routine operation, maintenance and theory or laboratory instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines
•Ability to communicate project status to project leader
•Ability to use Excel, Word, and other office systems
•Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy
