Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Selects Informatica Data Integration Platform

Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced that Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a national security laboratory managed by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, has selected the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform and PowerAnalyzer business intelligence software. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s National Ignition Facility (NIF) will use the Informatica platform to help develop a data warehouse that will help analyze laser performance, parts management and financial data.

“The National Ignition Facility supports research for national security, fusion energy, a future long-term non-polluting energy source, and basic science,” said Frank Papp, head of NIF’s information technology organization at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. “Data integration is crucial to helping our scientists, engineers and researchers analyze and handle NIF performance and scientific diagnostics, as well as financial and inventory information.”

“We are pleased to support the NIF project, and its national security, energy and science missions,” said Clive Harrison, executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Informatica. “Like private companies, public organizations also have a growing need to integrate and analyze vast amounts of crucial data in order to power actionable insight, and NIF will be doing just that with our platform.”
