Leading Clinical Laboratory Manufacturer to Market Hematology Reagents and Controls Directly

“For over eight years, Sysmex has primarily used one distributor to supply hematology reagent and control items used on our analyzers to our larger customers in the U.S. During the past two years, Sysmex America has been building its operational infrastructure to allow for direct sales, marketing, service and support of our products. Now that we have that structure in place, the next logical step for us in providing customers with exceptional service and support is to supply them directly with the reagents and controls,” said John Kershaw, COO and Managing Director of Sysmex America, Inc.

Kazuya Obe, President and CEO of Sysmex America, Inc., added, “After beginning direct sales of our hematology instrument product line over a year ago, it makes sense to begin directly supplying our customers with the necessary supporting products. Over the past 18 months we have enjoyed significant expansion, including an increase in market share. Now we are able to provide one point of contact for many of our hematology customers.”

Sysmex continues expansion of its operation with additional hiring after its recent move to larger headquarters. Last year, Sysmex re-assumed direct responsibility for customer sales, service, support, contracts, and operational functions for its hematology instrument product line.

The transition will take place over the months of March through June, with details being communicated to customers during the month of February.
