Los Angeles Welcomes the 2012 AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center, July 15-19

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) will host its Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo for the second time in Los Angeles starting July 15. The five-day gathering attracts professionals from around the globe and will require 26,000 total hotel room nights and will bring an estimated economic impact of more than $32 million citywide.

AACC, founded in 1948 and boasting a membership of over 8,000, is an international scientific medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, research scientists and other individuals involved with clinical laboratory medicine. Laboratory medicine plays an essential role in a majority of medical decisions, including cardiac care, cancer and prenatal testing, as well as diabetes management, infectious diseases and personalized medicine.

Those attending the 2012 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo will be housed at hotels in Downtown LA, Hollywood, Westwood and Century City. While the bulk of the event will take place at the LA Convention Center, where over 700 exhibitors will be on hand, L.A. LIVE and various event venues throughout the city will serve as additional backdrops for an array of gatherings.
