Mississippi State Department of Public Health Laboratory chooses ApolloLIMS from Common Cents Systems, Inc.

Jackson, MS – May 1st, 2010 – The Mississippi State Department of Public Health Laboratory (MS-PHL) has selected Common Cents Systems’ ApolloLIMS to replace their existing LIMS system. As the top tier laboratory in the Mississippi state system, MS-PHL is responsible for a myriad of testing protocols covering a wide range of health needs: Infectious disease surveillance, communicable disease, emerging pathogens, seasonal and pandemic influenza, and bio-terrorism.

Rob Ringenberg, President of Common Cents Systems, Inc. said “With over 20 years of experience working directly with laboratories, Common Cents is uniquely positioned to understand the complexity of laboratory operations. We go beyond the basic customer vendor relationship and form a business partnership with the local staff of each of our industry partners.”

When asked about the relationship between Common Cents Systems, Inc. and the Mississippi State Lab, Dr. Daphne Ware,PhD,the Mississippi State Laboratory Director commented “Our lab ha s a great working relationship with Common Cents. The Common Cents staff is very responsive to the lab ’s needs and requests. They are always willing to modify a test script, add a required data table, create a report, or provide an impromptu training to enable the laboratory to improve its overall functionality. The Common Cents staff has shown great flexibility and professionalism towards the laboratory during the configuration and implementation steps.”

Dr. Ware went on to say “the ApolloLIMS product has exceeded my original expectations. The system offers more off-the-shelf functionality than I had originally expected. The ApolloLIMS product appears to be easily configurable for just about any type of laboratory or test .“ With state and federal budgets under constant review and downsizing, it is vastly important for the laboratory to choose a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software platform that will allow then to meet all of their needs. Dr.Ware ’s final comment was “ApolloLIMS will enable the labor atory to streamline certain processes to reduce operating costs and increase efficiency. Although all change is difficult, Common Cents has made our LIMS change project much easier and even fun at times.”

The ApolloLIMS software platform offers more out of the box flexibility than other competitive LIMS in the market place. With many of the features that other vendors consider “add -ons,”the seamless integration in ApolloLIMS allows the technical lab staff to concentrate on testing while utilizing the streamlined operations in the LIMS to maintain good turn around and increased quality.

Mr.Ringenberg commented further “As a software vendor we are very conscious of the regulatory bodies that work with our customers. Our software is CAP, CLIA, and HIPAA compliant and has a very flexible rules based structure that allows it to be aware of popular nomenclatures such as LOINC and SNOMED.”
