National Instruments Releases LabVIEW 7.1 in Multiple Languages

National Instruments LabVIEW 7.1, the latest version of the company’s flagship graphical development environment, is now available in French, German and Japanese. In addition, LabVIEW 7.1 documentation is available in Korean. LabVIEW 7.1 extends the reach of Express technology to automated instrumentation and greatly improves analysis performance.

“LabVIEW 7.1 extends Express technology to the broad spectrum of NI high-performance analog and digital instrumentation, helping engineers prototype and test complex, mixed-signal designs in just minutes,” said John Graff, NI vice president of marketing. “With the localization of LabVIEW 7.1 and software documentation, French, German, Japanese and Korean-speaking customers can use Express VIs and other new features of LabVIEW 7.1 in their native languages, further simplifying development.”

With five new Express VIs for NI digitizers, signal generators and high-speed digital I/O, engineers can configure sophisticated measurements and acquire data with just a few mouse clicks. The redesigned NI-DAQmx measurement services software in LabVIEW 7.1, available for real-time applications for the first time, increases performance of single-loop PID applications by 30 percent and simplifies hardware-timed loop implementation.

LabVIEW 7.1 also features more than 50 new mathematical functions for creating custom, low-level algorithms and increases performance by up to 200 percent with advanced analysis libraries that are now based on industry-standard, processor-specific LAPACK/BLAS algorithms. With these new libraries, engineers and scientists using LabVIEW 7.1 can take advantage of the thousands of research hours dedicated yearly to making these algorithms efficient and accurate.

By delivering powerful, easy-to-use software in customers’ native languages, NI reinforces its commitment to serving the needs of its customers worldwide. For more than 16 years, NI has supplied European and Asian markets with highly productive and easy-to-use software as well as localized services and support in customers’ local languages, currencies and time zones through more than 40 branch offices worldwide.
