NEC Imports Starfruit IdentiTrack® Laboratory Information Management System
Data Unlimited International, Inc., Maryland, USA – May 22, 2007 – NEC CORPORATION (THAILAND) LTD set up a National DNA database and will hold the DNA profiles of at least 30,000 prisoners and juvenile offenders completing their sentences for the Kingdom of Thailand, Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS), Ministry of Justice and they have elected to use the Starfruit IdentiTrack® Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track laboratory operations for their forensic activities.
Starfruit IdentiTrack® provides electronic data management for all facets of operations from sample accession through the approval of the final case report. Starfruit provides support for many aspects of case management, including the sending and receiving of DNA results for various case types.
Thailand CIFS also uses the Starfruit DNA Index System to support the National DNA database.
Starfruit, a flexible data management system, was customized to operate in accordance with conditions stipulated by the Thailand court and justice system. Starfruit reports comply with the regulations and laws of Thailand, and provide the statistical results needed by police officials, disaster victims and the relatives of missing persons to accurately identify unknown persons.
