New Cloud System Brings Medical Images to mHealth Devices

Once the DICOM format images are uploaded to the cloud, CONi can notify a clinician’s smartphone that they are ready for viewing. After connecting to the CONi Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and selecting a study, the CONi Viewer allows the physician to zoom in or zoom out, brighten or darken the image, increase or decrease contrast, even play a series of images. This can be done with finger-pinch, swipe and other touchscreen controls on an iPad or iPhone.
CONi allows a physician to enter a SOAP Report that can be saved for later modification or “Finished” and placed into the patient’s medical record. Once finished, the doctor’s notes cannot be altered or deleted.
Patients and their guests can be given passcode access to their medical images with a limited amount of information. The images are never resident on computers or mobile devices for security and patient confidentiality.
