Next Generation NanoLC-1D(TM) Proteomics System From Eksigent Features Third Pump for Rapid Sample Loading
Eksigent Technologies introduces the NanoLC-1D Plus liquid chromatography system for nanospray mass spec analysis, configured with a third pump for rapid sample loading and washing. Ideal for proteomics and biomarker discovery applications, the NanoLC-1D Plus system allows sample loading at higher flow rates for significant time savings and flexibility. Operation of the third pump is incorporated into the Eksigent Control Software, and all of Eksigent’s NanoLC systems are integrated with Thermo Xcalibur(1) and Applied Biosystems/ MDS SCIEX Analyst(1) mass spectrometer software.
The NanoLC-1D Plus system features a new pump and flow controller technology that allow precise operation at higher pressure — 5500 psi — for higher resolution in nanobore columns. The new NanoLC-1D Plus system incorporates an innovative flow meter design that improves flow precision for a wider variety of mobile phases.
By eliminating flow splitting, Eksigent’s proprietary microfluidic technology improves reproducibility and sensitivity and eliminates solvent waste. The NanoLC, which made its debut two years ago, is ideal for LC/MS identification of low-abundance proteins. “Precise control at low flow rates is the key to providing reproducible separations with high mass sensitivity. The precision of our pump technology eliminates flow splitting entirely,” explained David Neyer, Ph.D., Proteomics Technical Director. “Our robust system wastes less solvent, requires less maintenance, dramatically improves reproducibility, and allows data-dependent peak parking for improved detection sensitivity.”
