This is the second year in a row NextDocs has been named a Microsoft Life Sciences Innovation Award winner.

“We are honored to receive this award from Microsoft for the second consecutive year”

The awards, announced at the Drug Information Association’s (DIA) 47th Annual Meeting in Chicago, honor companies using Microsoft solutions to realize business and information technology benefits. This year’s notable winners are revolutionizing medicine by bringing therapeutic breakthroughs to the market faster, to fight serious ailments, improve healthcare and enhance people’s quality of life.

“The life sciences industry is uniquely positioned with many new challenges, and pressure is stronger than ever to cut costs and bring new drugs and therapies to market faster,” said Michael Naimoli, worldwide managing director, Life Sciences, Microsoft Corp. “Each year, we are impressed with how the winners demonstrate sustainable impacts through technology, and are proud that Microsoft’s software platforms play an important role in enabling these achievements in life sciences.”

NextDocs was selected as a winner of Best Innovative Collaboration along with Thermo Fisher Scientific for their integrated solution for Nova Biologicals, a full-service testing laboratory for water, medical, devices pharmaceutical, and food industries internationally. The system was implemented by both vendors as one seamless system to provide a cohesive solution to facilitate compliance in Nova’s Texas facility.

Nova Biologicals was looking to change its way of working to comply with its State of Texas license of NELAC accreditation, and identified streamlined information management as a solution. The company also recognized the need to transition from manual, paper-based processes to an automated solution. Leveraging NextDocs DMS and Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS, Nova implemented a seamless solution developed with their unique needs in mind.

“We are honored to receive this award from Microsoft for the second consecutive year,” says Zikria Syed, Chief Executive Officer of NextDocs. “In our partnership with Thermo Fisher, we were able to successfully integrate our NextDocs DMS with their SampleManager LIMS to provide Nova with a compliance solution that helps them maintain their NELAC accreditation and better serve their customers. We look forward to future collaborations with Thermo Fisher, as we look to meet the needs of our life sciences customers.”
