NI Measurement Services Package Now Includes Free Data-Logging Software

The National Instruments measurement services software for Windows 2000/XP shipped with plug-in data acquisition (DAQ) devices now includes free VI Logger Lite data-logging software, an additional tool engineers can use to get their applications up and running with less system setup time. Valued at $295, VI Logger Lite requires no programming, offers data exportation to Microsoft Excel and National Instruments DIAdem with a single click of a button and seamlessly integrates with the NI LabVIEW graphical development environment.

Engineers can use VI Logger Lite to quickly acquire and log data with their plug-in NI-DAQmx devices – including the NI M Series data acquisition devices – without any programming, which saves valuable time and resources during system setup. With VI Logger Lite, engineers also can create a LabVIEW example program to easily customize and scale the data-logging application.

VI Logger Lite is the newest resource engineers and scientists can access through NI measurement services software, a collection of tools and drivers that connects virtual instrumentation software with NI hardware for measurement and control. NI measurement services software is built around NI-DAQmx driver software and includes intuitive application programming interfaces, configuration tools, rapid I/O assistants and new professional tools to help engineers reduce system setup and configuration time.

In addition to being included with most NI data acquisition devices, the latest version of NI measurement services software with VI Logger Lite for NI-DAQmx hardware is available for download free of charge at www.ni.com/dataacquisition/nidaqmx.
