NoemaLife expands into Latin America with Siemens

16th July 2012, NoemaLife, Bologna, Italy:  The continued success of Noemalife software solutions within the South American marketplace is assured following the recent acceptance of a tender to supply Cruz Blanca Salud with a further 1 million USD of clinical and hospital software solutions. The powerful combination of NoemaLife’s Laboratory Information System DnLab with HALIA middleware interface software and Siemens’s Diagnostics Division continues to unify and automate laboratory workflow throughout one of Chile’s major private healthcare providers.

Selected over corporate giants such as ROCHE and SONDA, NoemaLife looks forward to digitizing a further four laboratories and 22 sample-taking points across the Cruz Blanca Salud network over the next three years. With four Cruz Blanca Salud laboratories already benefiting from NoemaLife’s automation systems as part of a previous contract, the ongoing success of this partnership confirms Latin America as a strategic market for NoemaLife products.

“Although this is not an exclusive agreement, this partnership is one of the projects within a wider agreement between NoemaLife and Siemens in Southern Cone LATAM and explores the distribution of NoemaLife products throughout Latin America”, said Andrea Chiapponi, Managing Director NoemaLife. “HALIA provides a powerful tool that complements the range of Siemens customers’ automation solutions, unifying remote laboratories and providing a central instrument management and governance of workflows. The result is a system that can meet even the toughest laboratory automation challenge, and one we expect to find new markets. With Cruz Blanca Salud currently in the process of acquiring further labs in Peru and Colombia, the future of NoemaLife in Chile seems bright.”

With more than twenty analyzers across the four Cruz Blanca Salud laboratories, handling 7,000 samples per day and up to 18 million tests per year, Siemens has found a complement to its robust Advia CentraLink middlware. HALIA is a complete web-based automation system that employs HL7, the standard healthcare interoperability protocol, to provide auto-verification, sample routing and real-time clinical data capture and management for greater quality control.

Currently the number two provider of private healthcare in Chile, the Cruz Blanca Salud group was founded in early 2009 to consolidate the activities of Integramédica’s outpatient healthcare centres and a network of private facilities providing in-patient, emergency and outpatient services.
