Nonlinear Dynamics announces release date for Pro MST
Nonlinear Dynamics, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, today announced that it is to release its extended protein informatics solution, Pro MST, in the early summer, with an official launch taking place at the HUPO Congress in Munich in August.
Pro MST builds on the already well-established data mining tool, Pro. Developed in collaboration with several key pharmaceutical customers, Pro MST supports the proteomics workflow to store, manage and mine the vast quantities of data generated during 2D gel and MS experiments. Data from Nonlinear’s leading 2D gel image analysis products – the Progenesis and Phoretix ranges – is directly imported into the Pro system, together providing software support for the complete workflow.
Pro MST enables users to streamline the data flow from sample preparation through gel running, spot picking and mass spectrometry using three flexible modules. The Sample Tracking, Query Tool and Mass Spec modules are used for sample and experimental data entry, mining stored analysis results and linking MS-based protein identifies back to 2D-gel-based data respectively. Modules can be applied sequentially to match existing proteomics workflows, employing the single shared database to transfer results between research interfaces.
Due to its flexible structure, Pro MST can be deployed throughout an institute to accommodate single or multiple user access. This then provides the single platform for research across project teams, while maintaining data integrity. The establishment of this fluid protein informatics workflow will greatly enhance the ability to extract information from the large datasets typically generated within proteomics.
