OneBlood Implements Mediware’s Transtem™ Cellular Therapy Software

LENEXA, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mediware Information Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of software for healthcare and human service providers and payers, announced today that its Transtem Lab software is now being used in OneBlood’s cellular processing laboratory.

With Transtem software, the OneBlood team collects, tests and processes adult stem cell products used in the treatment of cancer and other diseases and disorders. “The Transtem software provides an additional layer of safety and enables our team to manage the entire process, from product collection to infusion,” said Dr. Rita Reik, chief medical officer for OneBlood.

In addition to supplying blood products to more than 200 hospitals and healthcare facilities in the Southeast, OneBlood also processes stem cells for blood and marrow transplant programs. OneBlood anticipates that, with the Transtem system, the organization will be able to more efficiently serve transplant centers and drive critical process management for product collection, preparation, storage, infusion and informatics.

“We are honored that our Transtem solution is able to assist OneBlood in its mission to provide life-saving treatments to patients in need,” said Thomas Mann, Mediware president and CEO.

The Transtem application was designed by cellular therapy professionals to provide a comprehensive solution for cord blood banks, BMT centers, cell therapy labs and regenerative medicine programs to collect, process, transfuse and track adult and cord blood stem cells. Transtem’s unique laboratory and clinical capabilities operate as a comprehensive suite that seamlessly integrates donor, product and patient data, providing a 360-degree view of treatments and outcomes.
