OriginLab(R) Releases New Viewer for Origin 8.x

NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ — OriginLab Corporation, a leading provider of scientific graphing and data analysis software, announced a new version of Origin Viewer to provide better support for Origin 8.x files. Origin Viewer is a free downloadable Windows® application that allows all non-Origin users to gain access to the content of OriginProject (OPJ) files. The OPJ file is an especially useful tool for scientists, researchers and analysts, as it provides a way to organize and store related data and analysis results all within a single file. With a free download of Origin Viewer, those who do not yet use Origin may access all OPJ content. This provides an extremely convenient way for Origin users to share their data and results with colleagues.

Viewer Enhances Collaboration

The combination of the OPJ’s all-in-one file capability and the free Origin Viewer makes the OPJ a highly effective file format to facilitate collaboration. Within an OPJ file, worksheets, matrices, graphs, presentation layouts, results and notes can be hierarchically organized by the user into multiple levels of folders. The Origin Viewer provides access to this content using an intuitive Windows® Explorer-like interface.

Key Features of the new Viewer for Origin 8.x:

  • Free application can be downloaded directly from the OriginLab website.
  • View the entire contents of an OPJ, with the exception of folders restricted by an Origin user.
  • Left navigation tree displays folder structure of the OPJ.
  • Reads OPJs created with any version of Origin.
  • Allows copying of data, graphs and notes (graphs can be copied and pasted as EMFs).
  • Small size on disk; it can even be attached to an email.
  • Portability; installed files can be copied to a USB stick and run without installation.
