Pacific Biometrics to Upgrade Lab Information System

Pacific Biometrics, Inc. (“PBI”) has selected the ClinAxys(R) II Laboratory Information System (LIS), developed by Clinical Systems Ltd., to update and enhance its clinical data management. PBI will begin installing the new software solution, specifically designed to meet the needs of clinical lab businesses, in early June.

The ClinAxys(R) II LIS collects and collates laboratory data from clinical trials and enables:

— Study management

— Data collection

— Flexible reporting

— Web-based access for trial sponsors

— Seamless integration with major databases

— Connectivity with online laboratory instruments

— Support for multi-site processing

— A complete audit trail for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

— Compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.

“We are excited to help labs like PBI leverage technology to improve the way they collect, track and disseminate clinical data,” said Graham Wilson, Managing Director of Clinical Systems Ltd. “Through our work with some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations, we have gained an understanding of what labs need from their information systems and have designed a system optimized to meet the unique needs of companies involved in the clinical research process.”

“Our investment in a new LIS reflects our commitment to strengthening PBI’s infrastructure and providing continuous improvements to the quality of our service,” said Ron Helm, CEO of Pacific Biometrics. “As a result of the ClinAxys(R) II installation, we will streamline data collection, management, and reporting processes and increase our information management capacity, ultimately providing a platform for future growth.”
