PRA International Selects DataLabs for Enterprise-wide Electronic Clinical Data Management Solution

DataLabs, an innovative developer of Internetbased applications for clinical development, announced today that PRA International (NASDAQ: PRAI), a leading global clinical research organization, has signed an enterprisewide agreement to standardize its method of capturing clinical data utilizing DataLabsXC™ electronic clinical data management (eCDM) solution in all of PRA’s clinical trials around the world.

The DataLabs-PRA enterprise deal will produce the industry’s largest eCDM-CRO technology transfer. PRA will deploy DataLabsXC eCDM solution for their clinical trials to gain efficiencies and create a company-wide standard for collecting clinical trial data in an effort to improve cycle times, reduce costs, and rapidly implement an enterprise-wide tool to clean and manage data faster and with higher consistency.

In addition, PRA International will be one of the first clinical development organization in the industry to use DataLabs’ newest version of their software, DataLabsXC 4.0, a single data management system that unifies paper data entry and EDC in a revolutionary electronic clinical data management platform.

To offer our customers and Principal Investigators maximum flexibility, we were looking for a data management system to complement our other data capture tools and comply with our ISO 9001:2000 registered processes,” said Bucky Walsh, PRA Senior Vice President of Business Services and Strategic Programs. “DataLabs’ technology enhances these essential capabilities, giving us one more way to deliver Project Assurance to our customers”.

PRA selected DataLabsXC eCDM technology because of the following key factors: DataLabs’ ability to support PRA’s long-term growth strategy, its rapid and efficient global scaling capabilities, and its simple, yet highly effective technology for conducting clinical trials.

“More than a year ago, DataLabs was the first EDC provider to develop and introduce a specific program that was designed for the benefit of our CRO partners,” said DataLabs’ President Jim Langford. “We introduced DataLabs’ CRO Partner Program because we believed that our business model of working with CROs and not competing against them
would resonate with their business practices. PRA’s selection of DataLabs after going through an exhaustive evaluation process validates our strategy and the quality of our software for global clinical data management.”

The DataLabs CRO Partner Program makes accelerating clinical trials easy and affordable by providing a suite of software, services, and benefits designed specifically for the unique needs of CROs. The program includes the DataLabsXC CRO Edition software suite for clinical study design, electronic data capture, paper data entry, and data management, which can be privately labeled to the CRO partner and is configurable to meet the various processes of CROs’ pharmaceutical clients. The program also features a CRO service program designed to meet the special needs of organizations using software to provide outsourced services, and the opportunity for charter members to join the DataLabs CRO Advisory Board.
