Description
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP No. AG-3A94-S-05-0044) for laboratory accreditation services. This acquisition is set-aside for competition restricted to small business concerns and will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. The purpose of this requirement is for the accreditation of FSIS laboratories located in Athens, Ga, St. Louis, MO, and Alameda, CA. The objectives are to conduct an audit and assessment of each laboratory to determine that each facility is performing scope analyses and support activities in accordance with the most current version of International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) Standard 17025 and AOAC International’s publication, “Guidelines for Laboratories Performing Food Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Food and Pharmaceuticals Testing” (ALACC) and the laboratory quality system, policies and procedures.
