Description

In accordance with procedures specified in revised OMB Circular A-76, Attachment B, B.1, dated May 29, 2003, this notification represents the formal public announcement and official start date of a standard competition of functions required by the U.S. Department of Interior, U.S. Geologial Survey (USGS) for three primary mission areas: 1) Research and Development of new analytical methods, 2) Analytical services for chemical, radiological and biological analyses, and 3) National Field Supply Service at the National Water Quality Laboratory, Lakewood, CO.     The USGS requires support to effectively provide: 1) Analytical chemistry and biological taxonomic services; 2) Analytical methods development and implementation; 3) Analytical consulting and work on special projects.     Work must be performed at the National Water Quality Laboratory in Lakewood, CO.     The incumbent service provider consists of Federal government personnel totaling approximately 112 commerical activity FTEs along with 1 contract.     Designated Competitive Sourcing Official (CSO) is Mark D. Myers, Director, USGS, Agency Tender Official is Timothy L. Miller, Headquarters, Water Resources Discipline.     Contracting Officer is Maureen J. Corbett, Acquisition and Grants Branch, Central Region, Lakewood, CO.     The projected end date for this competition is September 30, 2007.     The NAICS for this acquisition is 541380.     The solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be made available at www.FedBizOpps.gov during March of 2007.
