Rabbit EHR 5.0 Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification

Austin, TX, January 06, 2011 –(PR.com)– Rabbit Healthcare Systems announced today that Rabbit EHR 5.0 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on December 23, 2010 by The Drummond Group, an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The 2011/2012 criteria supports the Stage 1 Meaningful Use measures required to quality eligible providers for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“Certification is another milestone for Rabbit and we are proud to be amongst the first oncology-specific EHR vendors to provide our practices with Meaningful Use Certified technology as of Jan 1. In today’s dynamic environment, providing solutions that help physicians adapt, grow and participate in government programs is key. Rabbit’s one-database integrated electronic health record system, (EHR), practice management system (PM), Laboratory Information System, (LIS) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) helps physicians with providing improved patient care, practice efficiencies, meet government regulations, and fosters better provider/patient communication. Today, we are unique as the only oncology- specific Meaningful Use Certified EHR vendor to be able to offer our practices a one-database solution to meet their complex EHR, PM, and LIS technology needs,” says Brad Vassberg, chief executive officer.

Drummond Group’s ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

“The need to leverage information technology in the healthcare industry is huge – as the quality of care and efficiency benefits that come with computerization can really make a difference in the overall patient experience. We’re ready to help transform the industry by providing the sophisticated software testing services that ensure that vendors and hospitals are offering systems that are capable of meeting the meaningful use standard required to obtain incentive funds as well as the rich functionality required to move the clinical care needle forward,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and are ready to leverage our extensive experience handling sophisticated systems in complex industries as well as dealing with complicated technical issues such as interoperability and security.”

This Complete EHR is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by the Drummond Group, an ONC-ATCB approved to certify any complete or modular EHR, both ambulatory and inpatient, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. Rabbit Healthcare Systems’ Rabbit EHR 5.0 was certified on 12/23/2010 under certification number 12232010-2463-8. Clinical Quality Measures Certified includes NQF0013, NQF0024, NQF0028, NQF 0031, NQF 0038, NQF0041, NQF0035, NQF0387 and NQF0421. Additional software used was NewCropRX.
