Realizing Pharma 4.0 with a Digital Lab Assistant
Pharma 4.0 is an outgrowth of Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution. As envisioned by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharma 4.0 will involve digitalization and automation necessary to develop very complex product portfolios and cycles. The digital transformation of manufacturing integrates technology up and down the value chain in the form of artificial intelligence, laboratory informatics systems, digital lab assistants, augmented reality, and robotics. And of course, the underlying principle that makes all this possible is that of findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) data. This blog post looks specifically at the role of digital lab assistants in facilitating the transition to Pharma 4.0.
