The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana seeks to “upgrade the LIMS for the FDA labs in order to meet both technical and operational requirements of the laboratories. The upgrade will include among other things, sample workflows and direct interfacing with key laboratory equipment.”

“The upgrading of the LIMS system will involve the following tasks:

* Review of the existing LIMS system
* Identification of the latest technologies and features for LIMS systems
* Development of a plan and timeline for the upgrading process
* Implementation of the upgraded LIMS system
* Training of laboratory staff on the use of the upgraded LIMS system
* Testing and validation of the upgraded LIMS system
* Ongoing support for the upgraded LIMS system after implementation
* Provision of progress report to the FDA IT Head”

“In furtherance to the above, the FDA has received funds from the Bill and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) grant project towards the cost of the upgrade of the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS 2.0) like Oasis and its equivalent. The FDA intends to apply part of the funds to eligible payments under the contract for which this Expression of Interest is issued.”
