“The purpose of this document is to issue a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit details from the technical vendor community and its capabilities to provide a LIMS product that will be considered for future usage at MassDOT. This document provides a brief overview of the needs of the MassDOT, a summary of the tools already in place at MassDOT, and informs the industry that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) intends to post an additional procurement for implementation and support of a potential solution at some point in the future.

MassDOT has been engaged in reviewing its LIMS needs for reliability, security, scalability and growth. The review process encompasses a look at both the technical needs and business challenges. The current tools in place do not align with Statewide/MassDOT IT strategy for future growth and support. Materials testing ensures the safety of our roads and bridges. This requires the Research & Materials department (or R&M) to precisely and continuously monitor the construction materials used in our Highway construction projects.”
