“The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) provides newborn screening services through the Divisions of Environment and Public Health and oversight of the Newborn Screening Advisory Committee (NBS-AC). The Division of Environment, Health Chemistry Laboratory (KHEL) is responsible for the accessioning, processing, and screening of dried blood spot specimens for genetic disorders. The Division of Public Health, Screening and Surveillance Section, Newborn Screening (NBS) Follow-Up Program is responsible for the notification of parents and providers when there is an abnormal result … KDHE is seeking a new NBS Follow-Up program data system in order to improve current workflow and automate information exchange with the KHEL data system.” See the RFP for more details.
