Rescentris and the United States Air Force Receive Global Automation Award for Best Knowledge Management Software for Biological R&D

COLUMBUS, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rescentris and the United States Air Force have received the Best Knowledge Management Platform for Biological Research and Development award from CENSA for the deployment of Rescentris flagship software product, CERF (Collaborative Electronic Research Framework) at the US Air Force Research Laboratories. CENSA, the leading industry organization for collaborative R&D enterprise automation, presented the award at the IQPC ELNs Conference in London. Rescentris and the US Air Force received the award in recognition of their collaborative efforts to advance CERF as the leading extensible, user-friendly knowledge management platform that incorporates a robust ELN and research data lifecycle management platform. We are delighted to receive this award together with our partners at the US Air Force, said Rescentris CEO, Adel Mikhail. This recognition represents considerable effort to solve real customer issues, improve R&D efficiency and develop a very user-friendly experience for the individual scientist.

Mr. C. Geib, the US Air Force contractor who led the knowledge management effort and deployment of CERF, stated, Initially, we started off with developing some of the software in house. However, for various reasons we determined that additional capabilities were required. We evaluated several commercially available software packages over many months. In the end, we chose to go with the Rescentris CERF software system.

The US Air Force and Rescentris jointly accepted the award in recognition of their co-development efforts. Mr. Geib said, As a co-developer, we have been able to take information, ideas and requirements and turn around and give those to Rescentris. Within a matter of days or weeks, we have been able to implement those as a part of the software. Mr. Geib concluded, CERF met the KM and ELN requirements of the scientists and gave the Air Force Research Labs the data integration management system that we were looking for. Working with the Air Force has been an outstanding and productive experience for us. We are honored to have them as one of our clients, added Dr. Mikhail.

The award was presented by CENSA, the non-profit organization formed in response to the need for better research and products, improved legal and regulatory information, and standards for integrated recordkeeping and enterprise automation. Under the direction of founder Dr. Rich Lysakowski, CENSA has guided the marketplace toward innovations in electronic recordkeeping and information handling. CENSAs Global Automation Leadership Awards honor worldwide leadership and achievement in the fields of automation and informatics. CENSA looked for end users advanced automation solutions that demonstrate exceptional vision and leadership in reaching their organizational and R&D business goals. According to Dr. Lysakowski, The Air Force Research Laboratories, working closely with Rescentris’ development team, have been able to address broad and unique knowledge management requirements of research-oriented organizations that were articulated even before the 1990s. The Air Force has been at the forefront by encouraging its end users to apply semantic web-based technologies and take advantage of the integrated ELN tools for structured knowledge and experimental records creation. It is achieving major advancements in its knowledge management capabilities especially as it pertains to biological research and development. These major scientific and business process benefits advantages are being increasingly realized as the knowledge base grows in utility because of the capabilities inherent in the CERF semantic web based-standards platform. Dr. Lysakowski concluded, The Air Force Research Laboratories visionary leadership, sponsorship, technical expertise, and fruitful collaboration with Rescentris are giving them groundbreaking scientific knowledge management capabilities. This is the basis of these honors.
