Sample6 Pathogen DETECT Platform Acquired by IEH
WOBURN, Mass. and SEATTLE, Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Sample6 and IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group (IEH) jointly announced today that IEH is acquiring all assets related to the Sample6 DETECT platform.
This divestment allows Sample6 to focus exclusively on its groundbreaking and highly-regarded CONTROL food safety software. Sample6 aims to continue to develop the CONTROL product portfolio into the must-have mission-critical software suite in this space.
The Sample6 DETECT test system was developed as a solution to help food processors identify points of Listeria and Salmonella contamination on-site and in-shift to reduce food safety risks. IEH, through its wholly owned subsidiary Phage Diagnostics, are focused on making the DETECT technology available in every corner of the food safety market. The addition of the DETECT system will further enhance the ability of IEH to provide a full range of testing capabilities to food related industries.
“We’re delighted to have found a fantastic partner for the further commercialization of the Bioillumination technology and the DETECT platform in IEH,” says Sample6 Founder and CEO Dr. Michael Koeris. “IEH’s resources and reach will allow for a more rapid deployment of the groundbreaking in-shift, on-site technology, as well as the successful launch of the high-throughput platform into the central and 3rd party laboratory market world-wide.”
“Sample6 technology allows us to offer, for the first time, Listeria finished product testing in under 15 hours from start to finish to the food industry,” said IEH Principal Dr. Mansour Samadpour.
Sample6 is focused on modernizing food safety by delivering innovative solutions that shift the industry approach from reaction to prevention, which is the primary goal of FSMA and HACCP initiatives in the U.S. The company aims to be the central hub for all food safety-related data and provide value-added analytics, equipping participants throughout the food value chain with products and information that reduce their challenges and minimize risk.
