The Senior Specialist will assist with planning and monitoring helpdesk, provide onboarding support, and manage compliance tasks and requirement for internal staff, partners and sponsors. The Specialist reports to the Lead Specialist, Informatics. Duties & Responsibilities As part of the APHL Informatics Program, the incumbent will implement strategies for gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data requirements in support of new and ongoing informatics projects. The Senior Specialist will have thorough understanding of the strategic vision for the service desk and the ability to set the long-term direction of the team. The incumbent must also have knowledge and understanding of best practices for service management and strong communication skills. The Senior Specialist will help manage the compliance requirements with the staff and partner organizations; assist with documentation preparation to meet compliance needs and assist in creating and maintaining the Informatics’ program knowledge management. The incumbent will also support the Informatics team with onboarding to information systems within the environment. The incumbent will have experience in administering system settings, user and group management, workflows, schemes, reporting and other features for Incident, Service Requests, Problem and Change tickets Employment Standards- Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of work experience or at least 6 years of professional work experience, within related IT fields; • Atlassian Jira administration experience required • Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian Statuspage experience preferred; • Jira and Confluence certifications preferred • Experience with security policies and procedures related to Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and/or National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) • Strong technical documentation writing and editing skills; • Experience with cloud services • Self-directed and highly organized, as well as a team-player; Skills • Commitment to the provision of quality customer service; • Writing, report preparation, proofreading and copyediting skills; • Attention to detail in organization, writing comprehension, documentation for often technical requirements; • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, organize work tasks and complete tasks within assigned timeframes; • Ability to manage the enrollment of data exchange partners, potential clients, and sponsors; • Ability to communicate with a broad array of individuals from various professional backgrounds; • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret a variety of inquiries either written or oral; • Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow instructions; • Ability to easily collaborate with end users and technical staff of varying technical aptitudes; • A self-directed individual, driven to develop long standing client relationships and partnerships; • A professional demeanor and can-do attitude is required as this job involves research, analysis and extensive communication with co-workers and clients via phone, email and in-person channels; • A demonstrated capability to manage and complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines; Special Requirements Up to 25% domestic travel may be required.
